Solar is the cheapest electricity in history
In 2020 the International Energy Agency put it bluntly: in the sunniest spots with cheap financing, solar had become the cheapest source of electricity ever seen. Prices for panels have fallen by something like 90% over the past decade or so. The thing that was once a pricey science project is now, in much of the world, the cheapest way to make a kilowatt-hour.
